Short-Term & Medium-Term Accommodation in Wollongong

Sometimes you need a safe place to stay for a little while. Short-Term Accommodation, often called STA or respite, and Medium-Term Accommodation, known as MTA, can give you a comfortable place to stay with the support you need while life settles around you. Whether you need a break, a change of routine or somewhere to stay while waiting for your longer-term home, we’re here to help.

We’re BB Disability & Health Services, a registered NDIS provider based in Dapto. Our team has a strong background in disability, mental health and social work, and we support people across Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama, Nowra, Moss Vale, the wider Illawarra and Shoalhaven.

Staying somewhere new can feel like a big step, especially when there is already a lot going on. You might need time away from home, your family may need a break, or you may be waiting for a more permanent living arrangement. Whatever brings you to us, we’ll listen and help you work out what could suit you.

What Your Stay Could Look Like

What a stay might look like

Everyone’s situation is different, so no two stays look exactly the same. With STA or MTA support in Wollongong, you may stay for a short break, a planned period of support or while you wait for your next home to become available.

What a stay might look like

  • Arrival day: someone there to welcome you, help you settle in and make sure you know where everything is.
  • During the week: support with meals, personal care, medication prompts where appropriate, shopping, appointments, daily routines and activities you enjoy.
  • Time out: relaxing at home, getting out into the community, spending time on hobbies or catching up with people who matter to you.
  • Before you leave: talking through what comes next, whether that is going home, moving into a new place or organising other supports.

Short-Term and Medium-Term Accommodation can be funded through your NDIS plan, depending on your needs, goals and circumstances. We’ll talk you through it in plain language, with no paperwork panic. When you’re ready, say hello or make a referral, and we’ll start the conversation together.

Why Wollongong Trusts
Our NDIS Support

  • We’re a local NDIS provider, not a call centre somewhere else, and we understand the Illawarra and the people who live here.
  • We reply within 2 working hours on any weekday, not when we get around to it.
  • Mental health support is part of what we do every day, not something added on at the end.
  • We support people with physical, intellectual and psychosocial disabilities.
  • We know a temporary stay still needs to feel safe, calm and comfortable.
  • You stay in charge. We ask, we listen, and we adjust as your needs change.
  • We’re fully registered with the NDIS and follow the NDIS Practice Standards in the way we support people.

A stay away from home should not feel clinical or uncertain. We want you to feel welcomed, supported and clear about what comes next.
