Community Access & Activities in Wollongong

Everyone deserves to get out, feel part of their community and spend time doing the things that make them happy. Community Access & Activities gives you someone by your side for outings, appointments, hobbies, local groups and everyday moments that help life feel fuller. As a trusted NDIS provider in Wollongong, we support you to get involved at your own pace, close to the places and people you already know.

We’re BB Disability & Health Services, a registered NDIS provider based in Dapto. Our team has a strong background in disability, mental health and social work, and we support people across Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama, Nowra, Moss Vale, the wider Illawarra and Shoalhaven.

Getting out can feel easy one day and hard the next. Maybe you want to meet new people, try something different, get back into a hobby or simply have someone there while you build confidence. Whatever your next step looks like, we’re here to help make it feel possible.

What Your Days Could Look Like

What Your Days Could Look Like

Everyone is different, so community support should never look exactly the same for everyone. With Community Access support in Wollongong, you might have help for a few hours each week, regular outings, or support around particular activities that matter to you.

What a week might look like

  • Mornings: getting ready for an appointment, heading out for a coffee, visiting the shops or planning the day together.
  • Weekdays: joining a local group, practising public transport, shopping for groceries, going for a walk, trying a hobby or learning a new skill.
  • Afternoons: catching up with friends, visiting family, spending time outdoors or enjoying the local places you like being around.
  • Weekends: taking things slowly, going to an event, seeing a movie, doing something creative or simply getting out of the house for a change of scene.

Community Access can be funded through your NDIS plan, depending on your goals and the support available to you. We’ll sit with you, talk about what you enjoy and help you understand what could work without making it feel confusing. When you’re ready, say hello or make a referral, and we’ll start the conversation together.

Why Wollongong Trusts Our NDIS Support

  • We’re a local NDIS provider, not a call centre somewhere else, and we understand the Illawarra and the people who live here.
  • We reply within 2 working hours on any weekday, not when we get around to it.
  • Mental health support is part of what we do every day, not something added on at the end.
  • We support people with physical, intellectual and psychosocial disabilities.
  • You decide what a good day looks like. We listen, support you and adjust as things change.
  • We’re fully registered with the NDIS and follow the NDIS Practice Standards in the way we support people.

Whether you want to get more involved in your community, build confidence outside the home or find activities that bring you joy, we’re here to help you take that next step.

That depends on what matters to you. We can help with outings, shopping, appointments, hobbies, community groups, transport practice, catching up with friends, or trying something new. It’s your time, so we start with what you actually want to do.
Not at all. Some people like groups and events, others would rather have a quiet outing, a walk, or a coffee somewhere familiar. We go at your pace, not a set schedule.
Yes. We can be there beside you while you learn local bus and train routes, practise the trip, and slowly build the confidence to get around on your own.
No. You don’t need a list ready. A simple chat about what you’ve enjoyed before, what you miss doing, or what you’d like to try is a good place to start.
Where we can, yes. Most families tell us it helps to see a familiar face, so we try to keep you with the same worker where possible. It makes it easier to build trust and settle into a routine that feels comfortable.
