Community Access & Activities in Kiama

Getting out and doing things you enjoy can shift how your whole week feels. Community Access & Activities supports you to spend time in your local area, catch up with people who matter to you, follow your interests, and build confidence in everyday life. In Kiama, we help you stay connected in ways that feel comfortable and genuinely yours.

We’re BB Disability & Mental Health Services, a registered NDIS provider based in Dapto. Our team brings experience across disability, mental health, and social work, supporting people in Kiama, throughout the Illawarra, and across the Shoalhaven.

Maybe you’re looking to get back into a hobby, try something new, have company at an appointment, or simply find more reasons to leave the house. There’s no need to be ready for big groups or busy days. We can start with familiar places and small steps that feel manageable.

A Look at What Your Days Could Include

Community Access is about giving you more say in how you spend your time. It might be social, practical, creative, or just a change of scenery.

Some Ways Support Might Show Up

  • A gentle start: heading out for a coffee, browsing the shops, planning your day, or visiting somewhere familiar in Kiama.
  • Through the week: joining a local group, working on a hobby, going for a walk, taking part in an activity, or spending time outdoors.
  • Everyday outings: picking up groceries, getting to an appointment, running errands, or building confidence with practical tasks.
  • Time with others: seeing friends or family, meeting new people, joining an event, or enjoying the places that make you feel connected.

Community Access can be funded through your NDIS plan, depending on your goals and what support is available to you. We’ll talk about what you’d like more of in your life and how support might help get you there. When you’re ready, say hello or make a referral, and we’ll start together.

Why Kiama Trusts Our NDIS Support

  • We support participants in Kiama and across the Illawarra, with a real understanding of the local area.
  • We reply within 2 working hours on weekdays, because taking that first step shouldn’t mean sitting around waiting.
  • Our team supports people with physical, intellectual, and psychosocial disabilities.
  • We understand mental health can affect how safe or comfortable being out in the community feels.
  • We support you in choosing activities that feel useful, enjoyable, or meaningful to you.
  • You can take things slowly, stick to familiar places, or work toward something new when you’re ready.
  • We’re fully registered with the NDIS and follow the NDIS Practice Standards in everything we do.

There’s no need to measure your progress against anyone else’s; your community life can grow around your own interests, energy, and goals.
