A place of your own can bring genuine comfort and confidence. Supported Independent Living, or SIL, gives you regular help with the everyday parts of home life, while you build skills, routines, and more independence over time. In Dapto, our focus is helping you find a living arrangement and level of support that actually fits you.
We’re BB Disability & Mental Health Services, a registered NDIS provider based at 6 Osborne Street, Dapto, with a team bringing real experience in disability support, mental health, and social work. SIL is available in Dapto and across the wider Illawarra.
Moving into a different home, sharing with new people, or having more support around you can raise a lot of questions. Maybe you’re thinking about leaving the family home, looking for a better living arrangement, or simply working out what’s actually possible. We make room for those questions and take things one step at a time.
What Does Everyday Life With SIL Actually Involve?

SIL should support the life you want, not turn every day into a timetable. Some people need help at particular times of day, others need more regular support woven through their home and routines.
A Little Look at Your Week
- Mornings: Getting ready for the day, personal care, breakfast, a medication reminder where that’s part of your plan, or simply planning what’s ahead.
- During the week: Meals, shopping, keeping the home organised, laundry, or picking up skills like budgeting and meal planning.
- Evenings: Dinner, winding down, catching up with housemates, or getting set for tomorrow.
- Weekends: Family time, hobbies, getting out into the community, or simply doing what makes you happy.
SIL provides the daily-living support you need, while you build toward more confidence and choice at home. We’ll talk through what’s available under your NDIS plan in words that make sense, no confusing jargon. When you’re ready, say hello or make a referral and we’ll begin together.
Wherever You’re Based, We’re Likely Nearby
Alongside Dapto, we support SIL participants throughout the surrounding Illawarra. Being based locally means we genuinely understand how important it is to stay connected to family, familiar places, and the community you already know.
We also offer Specialist Disability Accommodation, In-Home Support, Community Access and Activities, Support Coordination, Psychosocial Recovery Coaching, and Short-Term and Medium-Term Accommodation. Some people need one service, others benefit from a few working together, and we’re happy to help you see the bigger picture.

SIL Support a Little Further Out

What Our Families Say
Each little story here belongs to someone we’ve had the privilege of walking beside. Choosing a home and the people who support you is a deeply personal decision, and we hold that trust with real, gentle care.
